Editing Pages in the Visual Builder
The visual builder is where you design what your pages actually look like — by dragging ready-made blocks onto the page and editing text and images in place. No coding needed.
Prerequisites
- The content must be saved first — the Builder tab only appears on existing content.
- The builder is available on sites rendered by Laravix (theme mode). Headless sites design their pages in their own frontend, so they don't have the Builder tab.
Opening the builder
- Open a page or post for editing.
- Click the Builder tab at the top of the form.
- The full-screen builder opens.
Finding your way around
- Top bar — the Back button returns you to the content form, on the right you see the saving status and the Save button.
- Blocks panel — ready-made sections (hero, galleries, pricing, FAQ…) grouped into categories. Drag a block onto the canvas to add it.
- Canvas — your page. Click any text to edit it in place; click an element to select it and see its settings.
- Style panel — with an element selected, adjust its layout, spacing, typography, background, borders and shadows, position and animations.
Working with text and images
- Text: double-click and type. Formatting follows the block's design.
- Images: click an image and choose a replacement from your site's media library, or upload a new file straight from the builder. Uploads support common image and video formats (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI).
Saving
Click Save in the top right. The status next to the button confirms with "Saved". Your layout goes live immediately on published pages, and each save is also stored as a revision (see Revision History).
Warning: The builder does not save automatically. Save before closing the tab or clicking Back, or your changes are lost.
Checking the result
Go Back to the content form and click Preview — the live page opens in a new tab. Remember that drafts aren't visible on the website, so publish the page (or check the design in the builder canvas) while it's still a draft.
Troubleshooting
A block I dropped looks like placeholder content. That's intentional — blocks come with sample text and images so you can see their shape. Replace the samples with your own content.
I can't find the Builder tab. The content hasn't been saved yet, or you're on a headless site.
