Getting Started

Welcome to Laravix! This article walks you through your first login, the dashboard, and the admin menu, so you know where everything lives before you start editing your website.

Logging in

The admin panel lives at yourdomain.com/admin. Your account was created by the site administrator — either directly or through an email invitation. If you received an invitation email, click the link in it, fill in your name and a password (at least 8 characters), and you'll be logged in automatically.

If you don't have credentials yet, ask the person who manages your website.

The dashboard

After logging in you land on the dashboard. It shows:

  • Overview numbers — how many pieces of content are published, how many drafts are waiting, and how many media files have been uploaded.
  • Recent Content — the eight most recently edited items, each with a shortcut to open it for editing.

In the top bar you'll also find quick actions (the lightning-style shortcuts): New content, Upload media, New taxonomy, New user and Account settings.

Switching between sites

Laravix can run several websites from one admin panel. If you have access to more than one site, use the switcher in the top left corner to move between them. Everything you see in the menu — content, media, navigation, settings — always belongs to the site that is currently selected.

What's in the menu

The left menu has two groups:

Menu item What it does
Pages / Posts / Archives The content of your website. This is where you'll spend most of your time.
Media The library of images and files. Anything you upload here can be used anywhere on the site.
Taxonomies Categories and tags for organizing content.
Navigation The menus in your site's header and footer. (visible to site admins)
Users People who can log into this site, and invitations. (visible to site admins)
Settings Site name, logo, SEO defaults and more, organized into tabs. (visible to site admins)
Activity logs A history of who changed what. (visible to site admins)
Bin Recently deleted content, media and taxonomies that can be restored. (visible to site admins)

Some items are hidden depending on your role — see Users, Roles and Invitations.

Your first edit

  1. In the left menu, click Pages.
  2. Click any page in the list.
  3. Change the Title or any other field.
  4. Click Save changes at the bottom.

If the page is published, the change appears on the website immediately. Every piece of content has a Status:

  • Draft — work in progress, not visible on the website
  • Published — publicly visible
  • Scheduled — publishes automatically at a planned date and time
